«زعيم روحي» يغتصب امرأتين.. وأتباعه يدافعون عنه

نشرت الهند الآلاف من أفراد شرطة مكافحة الشغب، وأوقفت خدمات الإنترنت في ولايتين شماليتين، وذلك استعدادا للنطق بالحكم غداً الاثنين على زعيم روحي ارتكب أتباعه أعمال عنف بعد إدانته بالاغتصاب الجمعة الماضية.

وهناك الكثيرون من أتباع زعيم جماعة ديرا ساشا ساودا الروحية في ريف ولايتي البنجاب وهاريانا جورميت رام رحيم سينغ، حيث أحرقت الحشود الغاضبة محطات بنزين وقطارات، كما أحرقت سيارات بعد أن أدانته محكمة محلية باغتصاب امرأتين عام 2002.

وقال مسؤولون إن 38 شخصا على الأقل قتلوا وأصيب أكثر من 200 في العنف في هاريانا فتوجهت سهام الانتقاد إلى حكومة الولاية تحت إدارة حزب بهاراتيا جاناتا الذي ينتمي إليه رئيس الوزراء ناريندرا مودي.

 وطوقت قوات الأمن سجنا يقبع فيه سينغ بمدينة روهتاك التي تبعد 70 كيلومترا عن نيودلهي.

وسيترأس القاضي الذي أدان سينغ جلسة خاصة داخل السجن في روهتاك حوالي الساعة 2.

30 بعد الظهر بالتوقيت المحلي (0900 بتوقيت جرينتش) غدا الاثنين للنطق بالحكم وإقرار العقوبة في خطوة يأمل المسؤولون أن تمنع أتباعه من الاحتشاد في الشوارع مثلما فعلوا يوم الجمعة.

 ويواجه سينغ حكما بالسجن لمدة سبع سنوات كحد أدنى.

إس ساندهو قائد شرطة هاريانا لوكالة «رويترز» إن بلدة سيرسا التي يوجد فيها مقر الجماعة مغلقة.

 وقالت الحكومة إن المدارس والكليات تلقت أوامر بإغلاق أبوابها.

 وأضاف ساندهو «نحن مستعدون تماما.

 لدينا خطة طوارئ».

وفي ولاية البنجاب المجاورة التي انتشر فيها العنف قال رئيس وزراء الولاية كاران أفتار سينغ إن السلطات استدعت أكثر من ثمانية آلاف من قوات الأمن والشرطة ومنعت الاحتشاد وأغلقت خدمات الإنترنت في الهواتف المحمولة بالولاية حتى يوم الثلاثاء.

 وأضاف لوكالة «رويترز» «تحذر تقارير المخابرات لدينا من أن حوادث حرق متعمد وغيرها قد تقع».

وتكلم مودي عن القضية اليوم الأحد وتعهد باتخاذ إجراءات صارمة ضد أي شخص يحاول انتهاك القانون.

 وأضاف في كلمته الإذاعية الشهرية دون أن يتطرق لأعمال العنف الأخيرة «أود طمأنة مواطنينا بأنه لا هذا البلد ولا أي حكومة يمكن أن تتهاون مع من ينتهكون القانون ويسيرون في طريق القمع العنيف، سواء كانوا شخصا أو جماعة».

وإلى جانب اتهامات الاغتصاب يخضع سينغ أيضا للتحقيق في مزاعم بأنه أقنع 400 من 

أتباعه بإخصاء أنفسهم لكنه ينفي هذه المزاعم.

India has deployed thousands of riot police and suspended Internet services in two northern provinces in preparation for Monday's verdict on a spiritual leader whose followers committed violence after being convicted of rape last Friday.

Many of the followers of the spiritual leader of the Dera Sasha Soda spiritual group in rural Punjab and Haryana Goremit Ram Rahim Singh, where angry crowds burned petrol stations and trains, and burned cars after a local court found him guilty of raping two women in 2002.

Sindhu police chief Haryana told Reuters that the town of Sersa, where the headquarters of the group is closed.

 The government said schools and colleges had been ordered to close their doors.

 "We are fully prepared.

 We have an emergency plan. "

In the neighboring state of Punjab, where violence has spread, state Prime Minister Karan Aftar Singh said authorities had called in more than 8,000 police and security forces, banned the rally and shut down Internet services in state mobile phones until Tuesday.

 "Our intelligence reports warn that deliberate and other incineration incidents may occur," he told Reuters.

Moody spoke of the case on Sunday and vowed to crack down on anyone trying to break the law.

 "I want to reassure our citizens that neither this country nor any government can tolerate those who violate the law and are on the path of violent repression, whether they are a person or a group," he said in his monthly radio address without addressing recent violence.

Besides the rape charges, Singh is also under investigation for allegations that he persuaded 400 of his followers to commit suicide but denies the allegations.
